Howdy all - I'm new to this forum. Hello to all.
I'm opening a small window from another window using a javascript function.
Ultimately I'm trying to get a html page that will run a program on my desktop when I click a link on the page. I'm using a server called 'sswww' and I'm accessing the page using the localhost IP address and port 8080. I have these links I'm talking about in a small page that I open using a javascript function and a command from the parent page that looks like this:
var remote = window.open(contentURL,windowName,widthHeight);
ContentURL is the small page that has the links in it (links to batch files that start these programs). WindowName is the name of the window, and widthHeight is a string that has the dimensions of the window. The problem is that half the time the window opens up with garbage in it. It contains no readable text. The window is there, but it seems to have some long unreadable string in it. Is this definitely a server issue, or is there something I can do in DHTML to make this second window open reliably? I understand this may seem a little garbled.
Thanks so much. -Dave
