I need to intercept the BACK button in javascript. I have looked into using the "onunload" event, but cannot determine what object/memeber/function to call to know that it was, in-fact, the BACK button that generated the event. Since the onunload event can be triggered by many things besides the BACK button, I need to know for sure that it was the BACK button that was clicked. And, of course, I need it to work with IE and Netscape.
Any suggestions or tricks?

You can't. Even if you could, you shouldn't. Taking away a user's perceived control is always a bad idea.
