How to avoid and detect memory leaks  kul_bhat at 12:54 on Thursday, June 24, 2004

Hi,

I am made a dll in vc and using it a program. Now if the program is continously run for more than one day then it gives the error of Virtual memory i.e. Paging file is too small to complete this operation (-2147023441). I have seen in many sites that it can come due to unoptimized use of some memory related functions.
Can anybody tell how to optimize the code so that it does not create viryual memory problem.

Thanks in advance

Kuldeep

Start using auto_ptr(smart pointers)
they are very memory efficient
