Position relative div is larger than absolute div  davecaygill at 13:12 on Wednesday, August 03, 2005

Hi Folks,

I have a problem with a 3 x div tab menu Ive set up.

http://dolly.uklams.net/lams/template/lams_example_tool/author_page_basic.html

The first tab (Basic) is position:"relative" and the other 2 are position:"absolute". They are positioned using a JS function that matches the position to the the first tab's content.

It looks like the size of the absolute positioned divs is being incresed by the size of the padding. This occurs in IR6, Firefox 1.0.6 Mac Safari and firefox! so I dont think its a browser bug.

CSS and JS can be downloaded by following the links in the html.

Any ideas?

Dave

p.s. this is OpenSource GPL software.
