Filling the screen with a layer  gcle at 19:05 on Monday, August 15, 2005

This ought to be dead simple. Ought to be.

I want a layer positioned left and top and extending to the right hand edge of the screen (so that, e.g., centred material is centred between the left/hand side and the edge of the screen, and word wrap comes into play at the screen edge).

So I do I use the 'width' attribute in some way. Or the 'right' attribute? Or what?

Or do I have to go to javascript and figure out the required width? Which would be a pain.

Given that the browser knows how wide the screen is (and configures ordinary HTML appropriately) it surely ought to be easy. In fact I'm surprised it's not the default.
