Hello,
Can someone pls help me with this... i am new to asp n jus learnin the basics...
i have an excel file n i want to display it on a webpage. but the person viewing it should not be able to make any changes on it.
also if a change is made on the excel sheet it should reflect on the web page immediately without havin to make any manual change...

hi hilma,
if you retrieving or creating excel file using ASP code, actually, you will retrieve the result and the data that will changes can't be update directly into the server back. so, please try avoid the data changing from excel.
however, you can do the excel file update from client and update direct to server by using activeX or xml method. good luck.
everything is possible but we need to know the way to do it ensure the client know what our best solutions.

though i have managed to work sumthin out for now... mayb i can use xml or sumthin for when the data load increases.
