IE settings for file download boby at 08:48 on Monday, January 03, 2005

When we ask for download a file, the window has an option "Always ask before opening this type of file". But this ticked by default and is diabled. How can I show that option enabled.

Another problem I face is when I first download a file witht he option "Open from current location", it is not prompting me next time I do it and so it opens automatically without giving me the option to directly save it to the disk.
My IE is Version:5.50

IE considers certain filetypes too dangerous to EVER open automatically, thus that checkbox is displayed but disabled.

But the files I am trying to download is only simple html type. Still the option is disabled.

HTML can contain scripts, activeX, Java, and other embedded content.
